Jean-Yves Le Heuzey, MD

Jean-Yves Le Heuzey, MD, is Professor of Cardiology and Head of the Arrhythmia Unit at Georges Pompidou European Hospital in Paris. Professor Le Heuzey obtained his MD from René Descartes University in 1980 and spent a year performing research in physiology at the University of Orsay. He later became Professor of Cardiology at Broussais Hospital in 1990.

Professor Le Heuzey has a long-standing research interest in the basic mechanisms of cardiac arrhythmias, as well as clinical activity in arrhythmology. Professor Le Heuzey has given over 400 lectures, including 150 lectures for international audiences, written approximately 200 papers and appears on over 550 abstracts.

Professor Le Heuzey is also a past Chairman of the Working Group on Arrhythmias of the French Society of Cardiology and past treasurer of the European Heart Rhythm Association. He is the current President Elect of the French Society of Cardiology. In addition, he has served in a variety of national grant review committees, on boards and committees of national and international clinical trials and registries (CIBIS, ACTIVE, AF-CHF, RE-LY, SHIFT, Record AF, DIONYSOS, RHYTHM-AF, PREFER in AF) as well as reviewer for a number of journals such as European Heart Journal, Europace, American Journal of Cardiology, Pacing and Clinical Electrophysiology, and Circulation.
