
Dr. Douville is an entrepreneurial executive with a track record of success in starting up biotech companies. Dr. Douville co-founded Genizon Biosciences (formerly Galileo Genomics) a population genetics company. As founding CEO, he negotiated Genizon’s seminal strategic alliance with Myriad Genetics and subsequently, as Chief Business Officer, he played a key role in preparing the company for its Series A financing. After leaving Genizon, Dr. Douville was involved in the start-up of Allostera Pharma. He has since been involved in conceptualizing and promoting Milestone Pharmaceuticals leading to its first round of financing in 2006. Dr. Douville obtained his Ph.D. in neurosciences from McGill University in 1991 and subsequently pursued research activities at the University of Zurich, Switzerland.

Dr. Leighton is a highly seasoned medicinal chemistry and pharmaceutical executive with over 30 years experience in the pharmaceutical (Glaxo) and biotech industries. He has founded and been actively involved in the conceptualization and start-up of a number of successful biotech companies such as Inspire Pharmaceuticals and ICAgen, where he has attracted quality venture syndicates. Dr. Leighton is currently a consultant working with the venture capital industry to identify quality emerging discovery and clinical opportunities. Dr. Leighton obtained his Ph.D. in pharmacology from the University of Virginia in 1976.

Dr. Maguire was trained in organic and medicinal chemistry and has had experience in key management roles during his 15 years in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Dr. Maguire began his career at RPR (now Sanofi-Aventis) and has established an outstanding track record in building up medicinal chemistry groups and infrastructure acquired during his tenure in biotech at Millennium Pharmaceuticals and Helios Pharmaceuticals. He has worked on multiple therapeutic targets and chemical classes that include adenosine agonists, tyrosine kinase inhibitors, MMP inhibitors, cholesterol biosynthesis inhibitors, MC4 antagonists, MCH antagonists and sigma agonists. Most recently, he led a medicinal chemistry team on an antitussive project at UCB Research. Dr. Maguire received his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Boston College in 1988 and subsequently completed a 2-year postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California, Berkeley.
Doug Wight is a seasoned drug development professional with over 25 years experience in key strategic drug development roles in academia, and the pharmaceutical and the CRO industries. Mr. Wight began his career in academia, conducting research in pulmonary physiology at McGill University and the Université de Montréal. He then joined the pharmaceutical industry with Sandoz (now Novartis), then moved to Searle (now Pfizer). He later joined the CRO industry with MDS Pharma Services (now Celerion). During his career, Mr. Wight has worked in many different therapeutic areas, including cardiovascular, CNS and metabolic disorders. Most recently at Celerion, Mr. Wight was a senior director responsible for the strategic and operational oversight of entire drug development programs from discovery through clinical proof of concept (PoC) for Celerion clients, including therapies for type 2 diabetes, spinal cord injury, hepatocellular carcinoma and acute bacterial infection. Mr. Wight received his Masters degree in Physiology from McGill University in 1985.
